Robin Pugh is a highly acclaimed turnaround expert, having been involved in the field of corporate recovery in excess of 16 years. He is the man called upon time after time by leading banks, venture capitalists, and private equity firms when their investments sporadically run into trouble. Robin not only has the capability to solve the highly complex problems that occur in turnaround situations, he has also successfully grown and sold a number of businesses in the service and manufacturing sectors and is a highly capable Chairman and CEO.

Driven by a desire to possess the facility to take on increasingly large and complex turnaround projects, Robin founded Axis International in 1996 and carefully assembled a team of hand picked, highly talented consultants, each with varying but complimentary skill sets.

Robin’s primary expertise lies in recovering debts and regenerating value in unstable companies on behalf of banks, institutional investors and shareholders. His exceptional track record speaks for itself; to date he has recovered over £175M for a wide array of established and blue chip clients including HBoS, RBOS, 3i, ECI, Barclays and Piper Private Equity, among others.

On a personal level, Robin has extraordinary business acumen coupled with analytical skills and numeric ability that enable him to spot discrepancies in company finances. Furthermore, his dedication, persistence and aptitude for lateral thinking and problem solving epitomise characteristics that are crucial for achieving success in this complex field of work. He is a trustworthy and capable pair of hands with which to steer troubled businesses away from the brink of the abyss, and has proved his worth over the past 16 years implementing and advising on successful turnarounds. His career has brought him into contact with companies of all shapes and sizes across many sectors, ranging from media firms to crystal glasses, software and even trolley manufacturers!

Robin is a Fellow of the Society of Turnaround Professionals (STP) and has been closely involved with this organisation since its inception in Autumn 2000. The STP is an independent professional body and the governing organisation of the Turnaround industry, set up to promote best practice and monitor professional conduct. It has strict entrance and membership criteria that applicants must meet, and fellow is the highest level of membership presently awarded.

Robin enjoys an excellent professional reputation as a Turnaround guru that has led to a high and sustained level of media interest. This has culminated in frequent live interviews on both national television and radio; Robin is something of a regular on BBC 2, Radio 4 and Radio 5 Live and is often asked to commentate on high profile turnarounds in the public eye.
